Normal

Normal shipping e.g. not Unique or Dominant will be fine for 90% of merchants. This includes Pick Up/Collect from Store, Flat Rate, Free Shipping, 'Same Day', Weight based and Price based.

You can find out more information on each of these in our Shipping Options guide.

Unique

Unique Shipping Zones are for items that have special shipping requirements. They should be used sparingly for the best customer experience.

These may be large items that need to be sent via courier or are fragile for example.

You have the same options as the Normal shipping type i.e. Flat Rate, Weight based, etc.

You need to add the specific products to this zone for customers to be able to use it.

If a product with Unique Shipping assigned to it is added to the cart the customer will see this option on the Shipping Section of the Checkout.

If there is another product in their cart that is not Unique then they will show normal shipping options as well (shown below).

Dominant

Dominant Shipping is also known as Override Shipping. Any products that are assigned to a Dominant Shipping Zone and then added to the cart will override any other shipping types at Checkout.

This is useful for products that are hazardous, sent by palate or similar and therefore require specific shipping considerations.

Dominant Shipping Types can only be Weight Based.

Local Delivery (UK Based)

If you offer local delivery, you can define the geographic boundaries for your own delivery service by choosing the 'Based on Delivery Area Map' option.

Local Delivery Shipping Type can only be within the UK and Weight Based.

If you have any queries about this feel free to get in touch with our Support team on Live Chat or via email.
