Create and apply category tags to products.
Categories are tags that admins place on a store product - physical digital and audio. They group similar products together inside a tag cloud, which customers can use to explore and find similar products. That's why categories are good for business: they help customers find what they want to buy.
If a customer is on looking at a product and clicks a tag, the platform displays a Search Results page that displays all products with the same label.
This use case shows system users how to create and manage categories for a digital product. The workflow is the same for physical goods and audio products.
Opening the Categories page
There are two ways to open the Categories page: from the side menu or the Products workflow
Side menu
Go to the dashboard and click Categories on the side menu.
On the next page, click Create Category. The Edit Category page displays.
Product page
Users can create a category when adding or exciting a product. Inside the Products workflow, click Categories on the Edit page (same for physical, digital, and audio products).
Click the Edit Categories button.
On the next page, click Create Category. The Edit Category page displays.
Creating a category
On the Edit Category page, create a new category or edit an existing one.
Basics
Enter a unique category name.
Select a Parent category. (optional)
Check the box to display categories and not product options when a customer clicks a category. (optional) The default setting is to show products.
Product Sorting

Description
These optional fields add content to the category page and help customers quickly understand what they're looking at.
SEO
Search Engine Optimisation is a critical part of building an organically successful website. Within the platform, you can update the Category Meta Title and Meta Description.
SEO Meta Title
Enter a brief description of the content on the category page. Meta titles are ideally 50-60 characters and include user-readable keywords. Google has updated its Search Criteria to give higher preference to user-first descriptions and content. Essentially, don't "keyword stuff" your titles, descriptions, or content, as this can harm your SEO efforts.
Meta Descriptions
This field gives you a bigger character limit, so provide more details about the category page. An ideal length for descriptions is between 150 - 160 characters. Within the description, add secondary keywords relevant to the page without keyword stuffing and keeping it human-readable.

Click the Image Manager button to upload an image, or select one from the image library.
Enabling visibility
Be sure to change the default setting and make the category visible.
Go to the top of the page.
Click the field and select Enabled/Visible.
Click Save.
